Hurghada with kids: family activities and excursions

Hurghada is an ideal family destination: sunshine, beaches, warm water and short flights from Europe. Here are the activities we most often recommend to parents, with children's prices.

In the water

The semi-submarine

The Semi submarine and snorkeling (from 14€) shows the coral and fish through glass windows, without getting wet. Children love it.

A day on an island

Orange Bay Island or Eden Day: beach, shallow water, lunch included. Free for children under 5 and 50% off for ages 5-7 on many islands.

The water park

A day of slides at Aqua Park Water World in Makadi: transfer and lunch included, free under 4, 50% off from 4 to 7.

Animals

The Dolphin show (from 18€): a show of about one hour.
The Grand Aquarium Hurghada: a shark tunnel and more than 24 galleries. Free under 4.
The Camel Riding 2h in the desert.

Culture for kids

Before seeing the real Pyramids (or instead, if the drive seems long with little ones), Mini Egypt Park in Hurghada shows replicas of the great monuments. €20 for ages 5-10, free under 5.

Cairo or Luxor with children?

It is possible, but the day is long (departure at night). For younger children, a private car gives more flexibility; for teenagers, the bus or mini van are fine. Prices: +€15 for ages 0-4, 50% off for ages 5-7, adult price from 8.

Minimum ages to know

Complete mini safari (driving the quad): from 16.
Horse riding: not allowed under 5.
Swimming with dolphins in a pool: not recommended under 5.
Spa: not allowed under 5.

Day 2: Orange Bay Island, beach and snorkeling.

With teenagers

Teenagers love the Super Safari, the Buggy, Parasailing and diving. It is also the right age to discover the Pyramids or Luxor.

With a baby

Choose short, nearby activities: semi-submarine, aquarium, beach. For long trips, a private car lets you adapt the breaks. Ask for a child seat in advance if needed.

Parents' tips

One big activity a day at most, with pool days in between.
UV T-shirt and high-factor sunscreen for the sea.
Water bottle, snacks and a hat in the bag.

On many sea trips, children under 5 are free and ages 5-7 pay 50%. Conditions vary by activity and are shown on each trip page.

What can you do in Hurghada with a 3-year-old?

The semi-submarine, the dolphin show, the Grand Aquarium, the water park and an island day with a shallow beach are perfect for toddlers.

Can children do a quad safari?

Some options (super safari, combined safari) offer children's prices with an adult driving. The complete mini safari is for over-16s.
